Gaffed Faro Dealing Box

The game of faro was the most popular banking game in the US, throughout the 19th century. Now it is completely extinct. Since faro offers a very small advantage for the house (and for some other reasons) most of the faro games were typically crooked. One gaff that was commonly used to cheat at faro was the faro box (a predecessor of a dealing shoe), with was supposedly made to protect the integrity of the game and prevent cheating.
