Often exploring themes of addiction, sexual power games, and compulsive behavior, Barbet Schroeder's film Tricheurs (Cheaters) is a powerfully impudent look into the world of some rather glamorous gambling addicts. In yet another fascinating role, Bulle Ogier is cast among a stylish milieu of gamblers and casinos, on the Portuguese island of Madera. There she becomes involved with a slick gambling scheme to run the roulette wheel. Tricheurs also features an appearance from the film's cinematographer Robby Muller, long-time Jim Jarmusch DOP and collaborator.
